about this project:
sker translates live vr drawing into a full-scale print in a bioplastic wood composite (liquid wood) via a direct pipeline: a two-pointer interface captures strokes and color in vr; the streamed line data is converted by our scripts into a watertight surface, resampled into layer contours, height-sliced, and compiled into synchronized robot code. on site, a dual-robot setup handled pigment dosing and extrusion, with layer height, bead width, speed, and temperature tuned in real time to preserve the hand-drawn cadence at architectural scale. the piece was produced as a public performance at the sprengel museum hannover in 2022.
