about this project:
the studio explored how additive manufacturing could define both building blocks and whole architecture in a mixed-use extension to the listed altes hallenbad in heidelberg. students developed concepts that combined climate strategies, spatial organization, and spi-based construction systems into coherent proposals. the focus lay on monomaterial components with integrated performance—load-bearing, insulating, shading, and joining—showing how additive manufacturing can reduce material use while enabling new structural and climatic logics. through models, prototypes, and design studies, the project opened a dialogue between historic fabric and future digital construction.
additive tectonics develops the future of construction: architectural 3D printing. From vision to realisation, across art, architecture and design, our strength is to introduce creatives, architects and other builders to the vast technological and ecological possibilities of today.
Let’s create the built environment of tomorrow together.
